Sunshine Law Conference

The Office of the State Attorney was proud to sponsor the 2011 Sunshine Law Conference held March 4, 2011 at 9:00 AM, at the Murray E. Nelson Government Center Mile Marker 102, Bayside.  

Special guests included Pat Gleason and Verlinda Doss, noted experts on the Sunshine Law from the Governor's Office. 

Pat Gleason serves as Special Counsel for Open Government for Attorney General Pam Bondi. Prior to joining the Attorney General’s Office, she was the Director of Cabinet Affairs and Special Counsel for Open Government for Governor Charlie Crist. She has also served as the Advocate (Prosecutor) for the Florida Ethics Commission and Chief of the Administrative Law Section in the Attorney General’s Office.

In 2008, Pat received the 2008 Claude Pepper Outstanding Government Lawyer Award from the Florida Bar. She is the 2009 recipient of the Pete Weitzel Friend of the First Amendment Award which is presented annually by the First Amendment Foundation to an individual “who has made significant contribution to the fostering of open government in Florida.” She is a graduate of Florida State University College of Law in Tallahassee. 

Verlindia Doss presented the ethics portion of the conference.  Attached to the bottom of this web site are the documents she used to refer to during the course of her presentation.
